24/02/2016 - RACE 3 (428) Class 4 - 1200M - (60-40)    VILLAGE HANDICAP

MR STUNNING waived goodbye to Class 4 with a performance that more than confirmed the promise of his debut win. No surprise that this talented son of Exceed And Excel remains on our HTF list.

Although no match for the winner Mr Ginger finished his race in good style to be best of the rest. It is tempting to add him to the list - after all Mr Ginger is on his lowest rating since arriving in Hong Kong and he can clearly win races again. But, we would rather concentrate on more unexposed types who have greater claims to run up a little sequence.

LETSGOFREE fits the bill for our HTF list. Very lightly raced and still learning, he found trouble in the straight on his previous two starts while being squeezed out at the start here. Racing in rear on an evening that saw the pace hold up throughout the card, he posted the fastest finishing split without being beaten up on the rail.

17/02/2016 - RACE 8 (415) Class 3 - 1000M - (85-60)    TSUEN WAN HANDICAP

MR RIGHT justified his inclusion in our HTF list with a deceptively impressive performance. The Magic Man fired him from a wide draw to gain a prominent position and it is to the horse’s credit that he didn’t run rank when asked to hold back in second through mid-race. Displaying a quality change of gear to put the race to bed early in the stretch, Mr Right will continue to pay his way as he rises through the ratings.

SMART DECLARATION also caught our eye making good late headway along the rail after being taken back from the 11 post through the early stages. He had been raised 7lb for his win last time but a smart final split suggests he only needs a better draw to get back in the winner’s enclosure from a mark of 79.

03/02/2016 - RACE 3 (370) Class 4 - 1000M - (60-40)    LAMBETH HANDICAP

MR STUNNING lived up to his name with an ultra impressive debut win. Sure the very fast early pace favoured a closing run style, but he looked every inch a future Class 1 horse and a finishing split of 22.17s simply cannot be ignored.

Neither can the prformance of runner-up MR RIGHT. He was drawn into the early pace battle before being steadied through the mid-section of the race. Asked for his final effort a shade too early, he takes great credit finishing only a neck adrift and can also continue his progress up the rankings.
